Queen's Hospital, Maternity Ward
Maternity Ward Artwork Project, September 2011
INTRODUCTION:
The Maternity Unit at Queen’s Hospital in Romford provides care for women during pregnancy and childbirth as well as new-born infants. Having a baby is a tremendously exciting time but can also be a little bewildering and at times quite daunting especially for new mums and dads. The hospital has asked me to create three different pieces of artwork that would be hung in the hospital corridors to transform the surrounding waiting areas into a more inviting and peaceful environment for visitors and patients in the wards.
The artwork should be warm and inviting, giving a calm and pleasant atmosphere, suitable for all ages. The criteria for this project are to use Cartoon/Animated characters as a base point for the project.
Due to copyright issues, the hospital wasn't able to use some of the concepts shown and these had to be redesigned.
